New african airline

Congo Airways is the name of a new start-up airline based at Kinshasa´s N´djili Airport in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The airline plans to start operations on 20 August, serving eight domestic destinations with two ex-Alitalia´s Airbus A320. The first one (Reg. 9Q-CLU) is awaiting delivery in Dublin, Ireland.

AC to launch non-stop service to India

Air Canada will begin non-stop service from Toronto to Delhi since November 2015. The new route will be served with the Boeing 787-9 "Dreamliner". Air Canada received its first unit in July (Reg.C-FNOE / msn 323). The new flight AC050 will depart from Toronto, Mondays and Wednesdays at 20:55 and arrive in Delhi 21:15 (+1day).

Delta cancels 60 aircraft order

Delta Air Lines cancelled an order for 40 Boeing´s 737-900ER and 20 Embraer E190 estimated in $4 billion, based on the list price of the planes after pilots rejected a three year contract proposal. The order required the ratification of the contract to proceed. However, Delta reported second quarter earnings of $1.5 billion.

Swiss unveils the B777-300ER cabin

Swiss International Air Lines, Boeing´s 777-300ER configuration will offer 340 seats (8 in First Class, 62 in Business and 270 in Economy). The new aircraft will be deployed in services to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Sao Paulo and Tel Aviv since 2016 summer. The B777 will replace the A340-300.

China Eastern has ordered fifty 737s

China Eastern Airlines has ordered 50 Boeing´s 737-800. Each plane has a list price of about $92 million, that would make the order worth $4.6 billion. The planes would be delivered between 2017 and 2019. Last year China Eastern placed and order for 80 Boeing´s 737-800 jets valued at $7.4 billion.
